Tassel Twirling 101 (Beginner/Open - Low Impact/Moderate Intensity)
Let those tassels fly! A beginner friendly (or seasoned pro looking to refine their technique) class aimed to get you shimmy shaking your way to a flurry of fringe. Giggle and play in this safe space to add a little something fun to your striptease arsenal.
In this workshop, deep dive into some history of what made this burlesque staple iconic; taking a closer look at the likes of Doreen “The Tassel Queen”, Jennie Lee, “The Bazoom Girl", Satans Angel and of course, noted as one of the original tassel twirlers - Carrie Finnell ‘The Most Unusual Act in Showbusiness’. Followed a low impact, moderate intensity class aiming to have every performer mastering a few simple techniques to get your pasties in a spin.
What to bring:

A pair of your own tassels as ones to loan may be limited, tape will be supplied on
request. Please DO NOT bring sex shop
paisties, these are difficult to twirl at the best of times.

A base bra/tshirt bra if you are uncomfortable getting down to just paisties. The
tassles can either be sewn or stuck onto a bra if that’s your preference.

One standard bra to striptease off as a top layer

Comfortable clothing and either low heels or socks that you can move in.

What to expect:

A short historical insight on the burlesque staple - tassel twirling.

An introduction to tassels, optimising them for tassel twirling performance.

Demonstration and lesson on different tassel twirling techniques.

Short choreography to apply learning.

Bump and Grind Boa (Open - Moderate Impact/Moderate Intensity)
The raw and erotic sensuality of the classic bump and grind never ceases to captivate, pair it with the high glamour of the burlesque staple “The Boa” and you have a combination that will have audiences sliding out of their seat and eating out of the palm of your hand.
In this class you will smoulder your way through a conditioning warm-up, learn the essentials of bump and grind followed by a short choreography to piece it all together - exploring the fundamental movements of the strippers of yore.
What to bring:

Your own boa or scarf, option to rent a boa is limited so please book ahead.

Comfortable clothing and either low heels or socks that you can move in.

Water bottle.

Knee Pads encouraged if new to bunny hops/slides.
What to expect:

A moderate intensity conditioning and warm up.

Introduction to bumps, grinds, hops, slides.

Demonstration with and without boa.
-
Short choreography optimising movement with your prop and new techniques.
Please note this is a moderate intensity class and will require some physical activity. It is not recommended for anyone with current or healing knee/ankle/low back injuries.
